Jubilee Day and Homecoming 2021 Update
Dear Fisk Family,
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the recent spike in COVID cases in Tennessee and Nashville, Fisk University has made a decision to move forward with a Hybrid event model for all upcoming activities including Jubilee Day and Homecoming. Please see the specifications for each event outlined below:
Jubilee Day
- The event will only be open to current students, faculty, and staff.
- It will be held in the Henderson A. Johnson Gymnasium and attendance will be limited to 400.
- All attendees must present proof of vaccination cards upon entry and wear masks.
Homecoming
- Homecoming activities will be closed to alumni and outside patrons.
- We will proceed with the in-person Homecoming basketball game and only allow 400 people in the facility. All spectators must show proof of vaccination and wear masks.
- Limited in-person events will occur throughout the week, including Coronation and an Outdoor Pep Rally featuring Fisk University’s Marching band, which is also limited to current students. Coronation will be live streamed as it was in 2020.
We are closely monitoring the local and national status of the COVID-19 virus. This plan is subject to change should pandemic conditions worsen unexpectedly or other unforeseen circumstances arise. Our main priority is keeping our faculty, staff, and students safe in a protected environment. We are sure our alumni and friends of Fisk will understand. We are hopeful that we can return to more traditional events in 2022.
