Biography: Anne M. Roberts

Anne M. Roberts, Ph.D.

Dr. Anne M. Roberts is currently an Assistant Professor of Education at Fisk University in Nashville, TN. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology – Giftedness, Creativity, and Talent Development from the University of Connecticut (2021). She also received her Master of Arts in Educational Psychology – Research, Measurement, and Evaluation (2021). In addition, she received a certificate in Program Evaluation (2020). She received her B.A. in Linguistics (2010), and her M.Ed. (2015) from the University of Mary Washington. She has worked as a gifted education specialist and Advanced English teacher. While teaching, she implemented a Makerspace in her school system, started the county’s Destination Imagination program and served as the county coordinator. Anne has also presented at local, national, and international conferences on STEM and gifted topics. She has written for high-level publications, including the Cambridge University Press. She has received high-level grants, including from Mensa and NSF. Her research interests include teacher and student perceptions of curiosity and creativity, in addition to makerspaces and Black honors students.
