Fisk University Hosts A Fireside Chat with Alice Randall on the Intersection of Country Music and Black Culture
NASHVILLE, TN – Fisk University invites the public to an exclusive evening of music, history, and conversation at “A Fireside Chat with Alice Randall: The Intersection of Country Music and Fisk University.” This dynamic event will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fisk Memorial Chapel, with doors opening at 5:30 PM.
Renowned author, songwriter, and scholar Alice Randall will take center stage alongside Caroline Randall Williams and two Fisk students to explore the untold contributions of Black artists to country music and its deep ties to Fisk University. Adding to the evening’s excitement, O.N.E. The Duo will deliver a special acoustic performance of “Hoedown.”
The event will open with remarks from Fisk University President Agenia W. Clark, followed by an interactive Q&A session led by Fisk students, and will conclude with closing remarks from a Fisk English Department faculty member.
